A-Lone Productions has dropped a fresh set of 7″ singles on its Jah Love label. You’ve got voices like Errol “Flabba” Holt, Prince Alla, Ranking Joe, and even producer Roberto Sánchez under his Robbie Ark alias. And yes, they kept it classic. Each vocal cut comes with its dub version, giving the Lone Ark Riddim Force room to shine the way it used to be back in the day.

First up, Got To Be Wise from Errol Holt. If you know your history, you know Flabba as the backbone of the Roots Radics, but he’s been voicing tunes since his early days as Errol Carter and Herold Holt. This track sets the tone for his upcoming album with Roberto Sánchez. It rides a proper roots rockers riddim and carries a message we all need right now: stay sharp, trust your conscience, and move wisely through these turbulent times.

Same riddim, different artist. Prince Alla steps in with a revisit of Jah Give I Love, and it feels just right. He first recorded it back in ’81 with Prince Jammy, and the spirit is still strong here. His voice is as steady as ever, praising Jah with that deep, rooted conviction. It’s taken from his upcoming showcase album, and if this is a preview, it’s definitely one to look forward to.

Then Ranking Joe steps in and shifts the focus. His track is a tribute to Marcus Garvey, and he approaches it with that classic deejay style he’s known for. If you’re familiar with his Stur Gav days, you’ll recognize the tone straight away. The riddim here leans into that Black Ark flavor, giving it a different texture from the first two singles.

And finally, Roberto Sánchez as Robbie Ark closes things out with Forward On To Zion. Same riddim as Ranking Joe, but a different message. He touches on the harsh realities surrounding the Gaza conflict, bringing a serious and reflective tone. The dub on the flip is heavy too—stripped back, no kette drum this time, but still hitting deep.

And finally, Robbie Ark’s Forward On To Zion takes things into heavier territory. Over the same riddim as Ranking Joe, Sánchez delivers a song that reflects on the violence and injustice tied to the Gaza situation. It’s not light listening, but it’s honest. The dub on the flip is heavy too. No kette drum this time, but still hitting deep.
