Protoje has teamed up with the well-respected Zion I Kings collective, known for successfully producing albums for artists like Midnite/Akae Beka, Glen Washington, Pressure Busspipe, Lutan Fyah, and Micah Shemaiah to name a few. The Zion I Kings crew was enlisted to remix Protoje’s album In Search Of Lost Time, which was released in 2020 during the pandemic. The goal was to create alternative musical soundscapes in the vein of traditional roots reggae.

With the addition of pounding kick drums, slapping snares, deep basslines, lush synthesizers, and dub influences, Zion I Kings managed to bring a fresh perspective to Protoje’s lyrics and songwriting. The remixed version of the album, titled In Search of Zion, features new versions of the original 10 tracks, as well as the respective dub versions of each track. The album will be released digitally on November 2, while January 2024 has to be marked as the scheduled release month for the double vinyl LP, including a limited-edition colored version.
