Remember Cultural Roots, the legendary vocal roots trio (sometimes quartet) comprised of Hubert Brooks on lead vocals, Wade “Jimmy” Dyce, and Norman Gallimore on harmony vocals? The group collaborated with Donovan Germain, Henry “Junjo” Lawes and King Jammy, who produced albums such as Rub-A-Dub, Drift Away From Evil, Revolutionary Sounds, Hell A Go Pop, and Running Back To Me. In the mid-80s, Wade Dyce departed from the ever-changing group.

Wade Dyce

Wade Dyce recorded solo three roots songs at the Music Mountain studio, with the support of renown studio band The Revolutionaries. Produced by D. Smith, these songs, titled Humble, Money Mare, and Hide And Seek, were released by Moving On Records in the US. They became collectors’ much sough-after records.

Jamwax Records

Now, Jamwax Records, a record label based in Paris, has re-released Wade Dyce’s songs on two 12″ vinyl records, which will be greeted with much joy by collectors who haven’t been able to put their hands on the original releases. Retaining the original Moving On label, the first record contains three tracks: Humble, Humble (Version), and Humble (Dub Version). The second record features extended versions of Money Mare and Hide And Seek.
