VP Records expands its Digital Reissue Catalog

Timmy Love promotes his second solo album

Following the digital-only release of Frankie Paul’s 1988 classic Sizzling, VP Records/ 17 North Parade is set to unveil three more vintage music on streaming platforms throughout July.

11th July Releases

The Tamlins deliver a striking reggae rendition of Sade’s Hang On To Your Love, showcasing their flawless three-part harmonies over a driving riddim. The track is elevated by Steely & Clevie’s Siyotanka-style synths, guitar work by Dalton Browne, and a mix from Anthony “Crucial Bunny” Graham.

Coinciding with what would have been his 78th birthday, John Holt’s deep cut We Nah Leave drops the same day. Produced by Henry “Junjo” Lawes and recorded at Channel One with the Roots Radics, the track features Holt’s powerful vocals backed by Style Scott’s sharp drumming and Flabba Holt’s signature bassline. Bonus instrumental and extended versions are included.

18th July Release

Carl Meeks’ 1988 album Weh Dem Fah makes its digital debut. Produced by Hugh “Redman” James and recorded at Anchor Studio, the album comprises nine digikiller tracks powered by Steely & Clevie’s Yamaha synths and Oberheim DX drum machine. The release features original artwork by the legendary Wilfred Limonious.
