Shanachie, the US-based record label, is set to release a special vinyl LP dedicated to the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry and his groundbreaking 1970s Black Ark Productions. Titled Crucial Cuts From The Heart of the Ark (1973-1978), this 11-track collection showcases both iconic reggae anthems such as Max Romeo’s War Ina Babylon, Junior Byles’ Fever, The Heptones’ Sufferer’s Time, and Junior Murvin’s Police And Thieves alongside rarities like Lee Perry & The Congos’ Fisherman Dub and Carlton & The Shoes’ Better Days. Fans can expect the vinyl to hit shelves on July 11, 2025.
