DIGITAL REISSUE

As part of the Skengdon Reissue Series, VP Records’ imprint 17 North Parade has digitally released two classic Sugar Minott albums, Ghetto Child and its dub counterpart Ghetto Dub, on download and streaming platforms. Originally released in 1989 by Heartbeat Records, Ghetto Child was produced by Sugar Minott himself, with Maxine Stowe and Kenneth Black as executive producers. The album was recorded at SKD Recording Studio in Miami and engineered by the legendary Anthony Graham, better known as Bunny Tom-Tom or Crucial Bunny. Featuring the Abbashante Band, Ghetto Child is a soulful exploration of hardship, love, and social consciousness. Its dub companion, Ghetto Dub, was also engineered by Crucial Bunny.
