Tanta T is a Diamond In The Sky
She describes herself as Tanta T, a reggae singer who knows how to blend Reggae and R&B to get a menu which is tasty and unforgettable.
I believe she could be mistaken for Santa bringing gifts of songs to the world, and she agrees wholeheartedly.
“I do have a heart of gold, love children but I wouldn’t want to be remembered just once a year like Santa.”
Having talent and good looks is more than good fortune. This is like a diamond in the sky. And, every female artiste seeks to score on the tracks.
Tanta T is quite impressive when it comes to lyrically speaking.
“Whatever you hear is mostly from my experiences in life. And, this includes from abundant love to heartaches. But, expect most of the positive feeling emerging because this is what the world needs,” she stressed.
Born of Jamaican parentage, Tanta T sees her newest project as, “a big deal.”
“This is an EP called ‘Sound Boss’ to be completed by December 2024. Produced by Dub Chemist, the project already has some seven songs. It (EP) began when one of my friends sent my music to Dub Chemist. He immediately responded with ‘three yesses’ signaling his overwhelming support.”
“His first production is ‘Sound Boss’ on the Satta Massagana remake riddim.”
In scratching the surface, Tanta T explains that ‘Sound Boss’ resurrects the heydays of the sound clashes, while the ‘Almighty’ is giving praises to the King of all living things.”
‘Far East’ is a remake of Barry Brown’s 1978 hit song. The others being ‘Security’ and ‘See You Tomorrow’.
Tanta T, given name Tanya Brown, was born in New Jersey, and grew up in several US states due to her father having a military profession and having to change his hometown regularly.
“My dad was a great collector and lover of music from the Dennis Brown, Alton Ellis, and John Holt era.”
“And, I always say I wanted to be an entertainer as early as age 5; recording my first song ‘Change Your Mind’ at age 19.”
She hopes to be part of a major recording label in the near future.
