Sandeeno – Poor Man
NEW RELEASE
During the early 1980s, Derrick Johnson started his music career as a deejay known as Superman, working alongside Jamaican deejay Spiderman. After the duo split in 1993, Superman changed his stage name to Sandeeno and released his first solo record, Gangster, on the Black Roots label. In 2014, Sandeeno, who sadly passed away in 2018, recorded a track called Poorman at the Backyard studio in the UK. The recording had been unfinished until recently, when it was passed to Belgian producer Unlisted Fanatic. He not only produced and mixed the track, but also added touches of the Moonshine Horns and guitar by Kingston Echo. Backed by its dub version, it’s been released by Seafront International on 7” vinyl.
