The 2025 Jamaica International Music Awards (JIMA) was a night of elegance, culture, and outstanding musical celebration. Held at the stunning Chateau Mar Golf Resort in the Inverrary neighbourhood of Lauderhill, Florida, on Friday, 28th February, the event marked the grand finale of Reggae Month 2025 in South Florida.
Dedicated to honouring and preserving Jamaica’s rich musical heritage, JIMA’s mission is:
“To recognise, cherish, and amplify the essence of Jamaican music, fostering a deep sense of pride and ownership while showcasing the global impact of our musical culture.”
An Evening of Spectacular Performances & Celebrations
The evening was hosted by TC Flexx and Suzette Speaks, who also handled emcee duties throughout the event. Meanwhile, Attorney-at-Law Opal P. Lee (Founder of FloJam Legal) welcomed award nominees, artists, and guests on the Red Carpet.
Following an opening prayer by Pastor Trevor Wallace, Hal Anthony delivered a soulful performance. The night also featured electrifying sets from:
- Worl-A-Girl, joined by special guests Lady English, Diva Lesi, and Sista Don
- Galaxy P (dancehall artist)
- Mad Cobra (dancehall artist)
- Ras Shiloh (Rastafarian singer)
- Etana (reggae songstress)
- Lady G (dancehall artist)

- Nadine Sutherland (reggae songstress and icon)
- Leroy Sibbles (legendary reggae singer, formerly of The Heptones)
- Alley Cat (dancehall artist)
- Jon Fx (renowned music producer)
- Clinton Lindsay (reggae radio icon)
- Dale V.C. Holness (Broward County Commissioner)
- Consul General Oliver Mair (Jamaican Consul General to the Southern USA)
- Maxwell B. Chambers (Miramar City Commissioner)
- Attorney-at-Law Denise A-M. Christie (FloJam Legal)















Honouring Dancehall Icons & Award Winners
This year’s Dancehall Icon Awards were presented to:
- Lady G
- Brigadier Jerry
- Sister Nancy
Other major award winners included YG Marley (Praise Jah in the Moonlight), Shenseea (Hit & Run), Masicka, J’ Calm, Nadine Sutherland, and DJ Reem. Shenseea was a big winner on the night, sweeping multiple categories. Her son, Rajeiro, proudly accepted her awards, entertaining the audience with his infectious energy and charm.
The Foundation Sound System Award went to Killamanjaro, with David Harper, son of the legendary Papa Jaro, accepting on behalf of the Killamanjaro family.
JIMA’s Growing Legacy
Now in its third year, the JIMA Awards Show & Gala Dinner has solidified itself as a highly anticipated annual event. First established in December 2019, its inaugural awards took place on 28th February 2022. Since then, JIMA has brought together music legends, industry leaders, and cultural enthusiasts for a night of elegance, entertainment, and cultural pride.
JIMA 2025 was a true celebration of Jamaica’s global musical influence—a night to remember for all who attended.
