Jamaican-born US-based reggae artiste Rasta Blacspade is soaring like an eagle since gaining attention as a finalist in the 2023 IRAWMA (International Reggae And World Music Awards). It celebrates the best of reggae and world music.

The Love Over All Things artiste, is creating a lot of buzz in parts of West Africa.

His song, ‘Jah Jah Live’, produced by Thug Chemist Music, captured Song of the month of May on QRadio 103.3 in Gambia, West Africa.

The Gambia is a small West African country bounded by Senegal with a narrow Atlantic Coastline. It is known for its diverse ecosystems around the Central Gambia River. Abundant wildlife in the Klang West National Park and Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve includes monkeys, leopards, hippos, hyenas, and rare birds.

Rasta Blacspade’s win is being described as a mega deal by radio host DJ Mutabaruka. The disc jockey, born Ebrima Jatta says, “Rasta Blacspade is certainly gaining much traction in West Africa because he hits the right notes as a messenger.”

“He is convincing, whilst his themes are universal, and he sings with much passion which ignites the imagination of those who believe in peace, love and unity.”

The disc jockey explains how much he respects icons such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, and others who have paved the way for bright sparks, including Rasta Blacspade who represents the future of reggae music.

Producer Thug Chemist’s latest project is the ‘Royal Plus Riddim’. It entertains not only Blacspade’s ‘Love Over All Things’, but also Itrujah’s ‘We Nuh Waah See Yu’, Racquel Sellers’ ‘Paradise’, Magona’s ‘Mend and Blend Again’, Jahvante Campbell’s ‘Cry Peace’ and Pashon Minott’s ‘Trim Trim Trim’.
