The situation on the ground is changing every day, and each organization may adjust its projects as assessments continue. We will add more trusted organizations as we learn about them. Jamaican Government Official Relief & Recovery Portal
The Government of Jamaica has launched the official Support Jamaica. Funds help provide food, shelter, medical care, and support services for people affected by Hurricane Melissa. This is the primary government-run platform for verified donations.
Food For The Poor
Food For The Poor is raising funds to support Jamaica with food, hygiene items, and household supplies. Their relief operations continue to assist families in areas with shortages and damaged homes.
South Florida Caribbean Strong
South Florida Caribbean Strong is mobilizing volunteers and donors to support community-driven hurricane response. Their focus is on connecting people in South Florida with verified aid initiatives that support Jamaica’s ongoing recovery.
Samaritan’s Purse
Samaritan’s Purse is operating an emergency field hospital in Black River and sending mobile medical teams into isolated communities. They are supplying water systems, hygiene kits, solar lights, and shelter materials, backed by several airlifts that delivered over 420,000 pounds of supplies.
American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ)
The American Friends of Jamaica has launched a $1 million matching fund to support relief efforts. AFJ is working with ODPEM, Global Empowerment Mission, Food For The Poor Jamaica, and the Sanmerna Foundation to distribute food, water, hygiene kits, and support for shelters.
Atlanta Jamaica Association (AJA)
The AJ Cultural & Educational Fund and the Atlanta Jamaica Association are collecting funds to support families affected by the storm. As of November 16, 2025, they have raised $6,530. They are also gathering non-perishable food, toiletries, and essential supplies at several drop-off sites across Georgia.
Project HOPE
Project HOPE is distributing food, water, hygiene kits, and medical items. They plan to expand support in St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, St. James, and Trelawny with health clinics, mobile medical units, water trucking, and mental health training for frontline workers.
Global Empowerment Mission (GEM)
GEM Caribbean, based in Kingston, is managing major humanitarian operations across Jamaica. Within the first week after the storm, they distributed over 1 million pounds of emergency supplies. GEM continues long-term recovery with warehouses in Kingston and partnerships with ODPEM, CDEMA, and IOM.
Direct Relief
Direct Relief is working with partners across the Caribbean to supply medical items and equipment to affected health facilities. More than $3.1 million in medical aid has been delivered to the region since early October 2025. Donations help restock medicines for vulnerable communities.
First Corinthians Thirteen Foundation
First Corinthians Thirteen Foundation, a Jamaica-registered nonprofit dedicated to health and education, has mobilized an emergency relief response to support communities severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa. The foundation is deploying medical supplies, food, clean water, and shelter resources to families facing displacement and hardship. Known for organizing major health fairs that served more than 500 Jamaicans in 2025, the organization is leveraging its proven community-care network to deliver mobile clinics, hygiene kits, meal support, and critical essentials where they are needed most. Supporters can donate or volunteer through the foundation’s Hurricane Melissa relief campaign.
Mystic Rhoads Productions
Mystic Rhoads Productions has launched a South Trelawny Relief Fund to support isolated communities around Albert Town. Landslides and flooding have left the area cut off. Donations help purchase roofing materials, water, food, tarps, blankets, and basic medical supplies.
Jamaican American Association of Central Florida (JAAOCF)
JAAOCF, a long-standing nonprofit, has activated its Disaster Fund to support communities affected by Hurricane Melissa. The group is collecting donations and encouraging supporters to help spread awareness through community networks.
Diaspora Consulates and High Commissions Providing Donation & Shipping Support
In addition to community groups and humanitarian organizations, several Jamaican diplomatic missions across the Diaspora have activated structured Hurricane Melissa relief channels. These offices are providing verified drop-off locations, Amazon Wish Lists, shipping coordination, and hotline support to ensure aid reaches Jamaica efficiently and safely. Consulate General of Jamaica – New York
The Consulate General of Jamaica in New York has launched one of the most comprehensive Diaspora relief coordination systems. Their website includes:
- A detailed list of urgently needed items
- A verified Amazon Wish List aligned with ODPEM’s official needs list, allowing supporters to ship goods directly to the Consulate for transportation to Jamaica
- An extensive network of donation drop-off locations across:
Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, the District of Columbia, and Connecticut
Their relief hotline (1-888-817-9050) provides daily updates, and the Consulate encourages donors to rely only on official information posted on its website.
Consulate General of Jamaica – Toronto (Canada)
The Consulate General of Jamaica in Toronto has mobilized drop-off centers across multiple provinces in Canada, with all addresses listed on their official Facebook page. Supporters are encouraged to check the most recent posts for the closest location.
Jamaican High Commission – United Kingdom
The Jamaican High Commission in London has released a formal Hurricane Melissa Disaster Relief directory with drop-off points throughout the UK. The High Commission is also directing donors to the Government of Jamaica’s new central relief portal, Support Jamaica. The High Commission stresses the importance of only using websites ending in .gov.jm, as this is the official domain of the Government of Jamaica.
Consulate General of Jamaica – Miami
The Consulate General of Jamaica in Miami has activated a coordinated system for drop-offs, volunteering, and shipment of relief items. Their official guidance includes:
- Locations accepting hurricane relief supplies
- Instructions for community groups interested in organizing local drives
- Volunteer opportunities supporting Jamaica’s recovery efforts
