Let’s take it back for a moment. In the early ’90s, Errol “Jigsy” King stepped onto the scene through the sound system circuit, the same training ground that shaped so many great dancehall voices. His style was rough, energetic, and straight to the point. A lot of fans even compared that delivery to Buju Banton.

It didn’t take long before the hits started landing in Jamaica. Tunes like Butterfly, Rail Up, Haffi Get You Body, and Gal A Fuss Gal A Fight became regular plays. Jigsy also had some notable collaborations along the way, including Real Ting with Tony Curtis and Question Ask with Freddie McGregor. International listeners got a strong taste of his sound through Work, his combination tune with Barrington Levy.

During that same period, Jigsy dropped three albums with VP Records: Load It Back, Have To Get You, and Ashes To Ashes. And if you’re a fan of 1990s dancehall, you’ll definitely know Give Me The Weed. Released in 1994 on Roof International, it rides the Freedom Blues riddim, laid by Barry O’Hare and produced by Courtney Cole.

Fast forward to now, and Jigsy’s still active. Over the past few years he’s dropped several singles, including Abraham with Tony Curtis. And now he’s back again with a brand new original tune called Hills & Valleys. It’s a roots-inspired reggae track with a positive and uplifting vibe that many listeners can relate to.

“‘Hills & Valleys’ speaks to the journey we all go through — the struggles, the growth, and the strength to keep moving forward. My hope is that this song will inspire people and bring some positive energy to your listeners,” Jigsy says.
