New release: Jamaica-Argentina: A Tango-Reggae SoundClash
NEW RELEASE
Back in 2015, top musicians from Cuba and Jamaica came together to create a musical fusion, culminating in the release of Mista Savona Presents Havana Meets Kingston. Volume One was released in 2017, followed by Volume Two in 2022. Now, the vibrant pulse of Buenos Aires meets the legendary grooves of Kingston in a bold new chapter of cross-cultural fusion. This new project brings together iconic Jamaican musicians Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace, Lloyd Parks, Flabba Holt, Mikey Fletcher, Franklyn “Bubbler” Waul, Ansel Collins, Chinna Smith, Dwight Pickney, and Bongo Herman with Argentina’s powerhouse ensemble, Los Guardianes de Gregory. The latter include Gummy Orellano on drums, Matos Fiyahbhinghi on bass, FedaRoots handling rhythm guitar, Pato Álvarez on lead guitar, and Gusti Cancino covering piano, Hammond organ, and strings. Jamaican vocalists involved in the 10-track LP include Mykal Rose, Bushman, Chezidek, U Brown, Errol Dunkley and Lloyd Parks.
