After having released Linval Thompson’s Rebel Up, Groove Exploration Records now issues a powerful new 12″ release featuring reggae legend Max Romeo and his stirring track The Time Is Now. Recorded in one take at Paradis Blanc Studio in Compiègne in 2023, the song features backing vocals from Emmanuel & the Bionites and rides a deep, conscious riddim produced in collaboration with Dub Shepherds, HitMan & Fiza, and Riddim Activist. Inspired by lyrics penned by Groove Exploration’s Nesta Egor, Max Romeo wasted no time laying down his vocals, delivering a passionate call for global awakening and resistance. The limited-edition 12″ single offers an extended mix on Side A, blending vocals and dub into a rallying anthem. Side B dives deeper into dub territory with two instrumental versions: The Ark’s Legacy, featuring Obi Riddim’s ethereal flute (Selenites Band) and Horns In Dub, a raw, brass-driven cut powered by the Unique Horns, designed to shake sound systems to their core.
