‘Just for Peace’ clutches two Grammy Winners
Recently the police killing of ‘an alleged gang leader’ led to furious condemnation from sympathizers, the trading of bullets by lawmen and gangsters, and the lockdown of all activities in the town.
The “Just for Peace” album, produced by US-based Michael “Beatbopper” Hudgins, has clutched its second Grammy purse for Vision Alexander, the dynamic songwriter, producer, and artiste.
His entry, “Belong 2 the Streets,” is a collaboration with Third World Don.
The Jamaican-born, now living in the US, has gained international fame since appearing on Julian Marley and Antaeus’ Grammy-winning reggae album, “Colors of Royal.” This was at the 66th Grammy Awards on February 24, 2024.
Also, on the “Just for Peace” album is Kabaka Pyramid, who took the Grammy crown with its rich-conscious sophomore project, “The Kalling,” at the 65th annual Grammy Awards.
Just for Peace is no stranger to winning awards. It’s a triple Ambassador for Peace awardee from the Universal Peace Federation.
Two of the recipients are Dr. Garth McDonald, Senior Medical Officer (SMO) at Victoria Jubilee Hospital, and Romario Gayle, a vice-president of Just for Peace International.
Additionally, the organisation has been given commendation letters from the Governor General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Allen, and the High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago for promoting peace, unity, and discipline in schools.
Just for Peace is now preparing for Child’s Month, which is celebrated in May of each year.
One of its initiatives is to provide some 25 scholarships to, especially fatherless children, in the coming academic year 2024 to 2025.
Part sponsorship will come from Michael “Beatbopper” Hudgins, who has been sponsoring needy children for the past three years in Jamaica.
