Any fan of the Wackie’s label, founded by Lloyd “Bullwackie” Barnes, will be thrilled with the long-awaited release of the sixth volume in the label’s long running compilation series titled Jah Children Invasion. The first chapter of this series was released in 1982 and included tracks from artists like Sugar Minott, Wayne Jarrett, Max Romeo, Junior Delahaye, and Love Joys. Over the next five years, more chapters were released, and now, after a long wait, Brooklyn-based DKR has put out a new chapter in the series. This new volume, titled Jah Children Invasion Vol 6 – Digital Dawn, focuses on Wackie’s early digital productions. The LP includes three previously unreleased tunes and seven others that were sourced from rare and out-of-print releases. The featured artists on this compilation include Horace Andy, Milton Henry, Jerry Harris, Jackie Mittoo, Wayne Chin, Chris Wayne, and Chosen Brothers.
