‘House Party’ is supreme
About a year ago I was surfing on the internet when I came across Susan Boyle’s 2009 audition on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, a highly successful show which pulls out the best in everyone.
I was amazed by her comical entrance on stage, and then a shocking performance that gave the judges including Simon “a wake-up call.”
Í couldn’t help thinking, what a performance!
Since that audition, several million viewers have logged onto her incredible act. I must have watched that audition more than 200 times. That was Susan’s big moment.
Now, only three weeks ago, I was introduced to two Montegonians from Jamaica with “a hit song.”
Nowadays, every artiste who can barely crow claims they have a hit song. And I am not really fond of the Wild West.
Nevertheless, I began listening to the song which turned out to be ‘House Party’ done by Asce-aa-Spade and Skirdle Sparta, son of Tommy Lee Sparta. And, What a surprise!
As old as I am, I may want to invite myself to their next ‘House Party’ if only to “fatten mi eyes.”
Apart from the riddim, which includes a trash n’ ready invitational beat, the composition is catchy, lively, sexy, ti, and pulsating.
For Asce –aa-Spade to meet Skirdle Sparta was a blessing. And, for Skirdle to add his spice comes a recipe extraordinaire.
Both designers work in unison complimenting each other with a rich repertoire. Here is an example:
“Gall Twerk, Twerk
Seduction
Brace pon di John
Satisfaction
Gall whine
Distraction…”
Then comes a verse:
“Mi cup empty
Mi need another drink
Pass mi di Hennessy
Wid di iceeeee
Feel so high
Cause mi head a spin
Smoking hookah(chalice)
House full a girls
Whine up yu body Shorty
Neighbour a peep
Dem cant see…”
There is a whale of excitement with imagery like:
“Gall mek yuh bumper
Beat like a banjo.”
And my favourite line is, “This is a House Porteeee,” the icing on the cake. I hope she doesn’t turn out to be a birthday cake.
What a song. It was a complete privilege listening to ‘House Party’ by Asce-aa-Spade and Skirdle Sparta. A complete privilege, using the words of a judge the night Susan stunned the world with ‘I Dreamed A Dream’.
