NEW RELEASE

In 1996, Glen Washington rejuvenated his music career with the Coxsone Dodd produced Brother To Brother, an album showcasing tracks built on Sound Dimension’s iconic Studio One riddims. This 12-song release reintroduced the artist, who gained some fame in 1978 with his local hit Rockers Not Crackers for the Joe Gibbs label, to reggae fans around the globe.

The same style is utilized in Washington’s latest album, the 14-track Feeling Irie, which is produced by seasoned producer and musician Willie Lindo, who also worked on the singer’s 2020 release, I’m Livin Well. In this instance, Glen Washington explores riddims from producer Duke Reid’s vast Treasure Isle catalogue. However, unlike the Brother To Brother collection, the riddims featured here are not the original versions but rather new interpretations. The album, digitally released on download and streaming platforms, features tracks such as Feeling Irie, They Will Soon Have To Pay, Wherever You Go, and Home Again. In addition to producing the album, Willie Lindo, a prominent session guitarist from Federal Records in the 1970s, contributes his talents as a musician. Joining him is Jackie Jackson, who played on the original Treasure Isle riddims in the 1960s.
