First Phase of Caymanas Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) to Be Developed Over Four Years At A Cost of $8 Billion

The first phase of the Caymanas Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) will be developed over four years at a cost of $8 billion, covering 200 acres of the 700-acre property.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, made the disclosure while making his contribution to the 2026/27 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives, on Thursday (March 19).

Dr. Holness said it is anticipated the initiative will generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs during construction alone.

“The CSEZ is Jamaica’s flagship logistics project. It is designed to complete Jamaica’s transition from a transshipment hub into a fully-fledged logistics centre for the region and beyond,” he said.

Prime Minister Holness said the CSEZ will anchor the country’s entire logistics ecosystem.

“Taken together – Westlands, Tinson Pen, and the Caymanas Special Economic Zone – these three investments will assemble the largest block of near-port logistics lands in the region, placing Jamaica firmly on the path to fulfilling our national ambition of becoming the fourth global node in logistics, alongside Singapore, Dubai, and Rotterdam,” he said.
