Earl Zero, a roots artist from Greenwich Farm, West Kingston, Jamaica, is internationally known for classic roots tunes like None Shall Escape The Judgement, Please Officer, and Righteous Works. In the mid-to-late ’70s, he recorded numerous remarkable tracks for producer Bertram Brown’s Freedom Sounds label. Notable songs from this era include Shackles and Chains, Home Sweet Home, Have Faith In Rastafari, Only Jah Can Ease The Pressure, and Black Bird. Mixed at King Tubby’s and featuring the Soul Syndicate band, the 1978 released Black Bird, along with its dub counterpart Black Bird Dub, has now been reissued on 7″ vinyl by TRS Records.
