Independent label Time To Roots Records, in association with producer George Palmer, have put a remakable 100% instrumental project titled Take Time. The limited 12″ vinyl consists of five versions of Dave Brubeck Quartet’s jazz standard Take Five from 1959. Jamaican musicians, including Val Benett (The Russians Are Coming), recorded a reggae version of the much covered instrumental. Now, the members of a studio band named Dub Wizards have taken Take Five to fuse Jazz with Roots Reggae and Dub.

This project is a tribute to all the legendary Jamaican foundation musicians that traditionally come from Jazz and Soul music but they also created the Rebel music, Reggae music. The first track, Take Time, is played by the ‘All Stars’, and is then followed by a flute, guitar, and tenor sax cut called Take Off, Take Vibration, and Take Out respectively. Things come to an end with the dub version, Take Dub.
