Dream-X returns with ‘Different Element Riddim’
Jamaican-born US-based record producer Dream-X is embarking on ‘Different Element Riddim’, a new exciting project which features six wonderful tracks. This comes after three years in the business, composing instrumentals for his own Dream-X Production, based in New York, US.
According to Dream-X, “I am very excited about this project, ‘Different Element Riddim’. It may sound just a bit different from my usual riddims, mainly because of the inspiration. On this occasion, I decided to have a draw (smoke) as I settled down in my home-based studio.”
“The vibe was different, but good enough to create the beats, with instruments including piano, drums, and synth.”
“This was a more sentimental vibe, and it worked for the first time without a fully supportive engineer.”
This riddim took me about fifteen minutes for the raw cut, which was tailored to mixing and mastering.”
“This project began in May 2023 and was completed six months later in November 2023. There are five artistes on this project. Shavi, a singjay with his entry titled ‘Mountain’. His theme surrounds the motivation of youths.”
“The second artiste is also a singjay, 1 Powerful, with a song titled ‘Hottest Thing Now’. This song is about his prowess in singing.”
“Also on the project is Crecendo with a song titled, ‘Mothers Love’. Pressure Law’s entry is, ‘Watch The Play’, which is a warning about faked friends. Furthermore, there’s Davi Dan’s entry, ‘Nuh Cross It’, and an instrumental rounding off the pack.”
The project was launched on November 17, 2023, on various platforms including Spotify, Amazon, and Apple.
Dream-X, born Kason Murray, is from Montego Bay, St. James. “I attended Irwin High School and quickly found friends who were interested in music, such as my grandfather who played the guitar.”
“I started out playing the banjo at church. This led to other instruments such as the piano. I was fully involved in music with thoughts of being a record producer when I migrated to join my mother in New York in 2018.”
“I started to purchase equipment, including keyboards and speaker boxes, for my home-based studio in 2019. My first riddim titled ‘DC Riddim’ featured artistes Sliva, Pressure Law, Lil Choppa, and Daren Di Great.”
The others were ‘Taboo Riddim’ with three artistes – Waaz, Krytical, and Alleena Jay.”
Dream-X also produced the ‘Hot Signal’ EP which had eight tracks by SSG Lyrical.
“I am using the rest of the year to promote my latest project, ‘Different Element Riddim’,” he shared.
