Deejay Shaka Pow’s “Community” song Is Wow!
Dancehall/Afrobeat deejay Shaka Pow’s “Community” song is driving home the importance of unity, love, and peace in our communities.
This is also the intention of any well-thinking government across the world.
Apart from the home, which is the first place of learning, the wider community is expected to impart not only knowledge but help to protect those who are deemed vulnerable such as the aged and children.
According to the Fully Bright deejay, now spearheading a Fully Bright initiative in schools, “My “Community” song is getting a lot of community support throughout both innercity communities in urban and rural Jamaica.
“We actually started the ball rolling in Kingston, and with the influence of social media, the idea of togetherness is spreading like wildfire”.
The deejay further explains that “The song was done due to the personal loss of an artiste loved one. He (artiste) represents our own, and in these trying times, we really need as much support as possible in our individual communities”
The concept of the “Community” song took root after the deejay got the riddim, a remake of the popular Shinehead riddim, “Strive.”
The riddim owned by Digital One Productions is bouncy and has high energy, one which offers a listening ear and also is perfect to dance along. It is getting some significant radio play, both locally and abroad.
The song was released a month ago in July and the video was done within a week.
