Buju Banton announces new album ‘Too Too Bad’
Buju gave us timeless classics like ‘Til Shiloh back in the day. In fact, this new album title is a direct nod to his hit eighth studio album, Too Bad, which he dropped back in September 2006. He obviously faced a huge hurdle with his seven-year stint in a US prison. But he came back incredibly strong in 2018 and has been working hard ever since.
You might’ve already heard the lead chune from the new project. It’s called Butterflies and Supa Dups produced it. It’s already sitting at over a million streams. It has a playful and romantic vibe that instantly takes you back to tracks like Love Sponge. He just dropped the Miami music video for it too, directed by Justice Silvera.
He’s also taking this joyful energy on the road. Buju and Stephen Marley are joining forces for the Roots and Rhymes US tour this summer. Things kick off on June 17 in Redmond and wrap up on July 25 in Atlanta. They’re hitting great spots like Red Rocks and Milwaukee Summerfest along the way.
Gramps Morgan and DJ Splackavelli are jumping on a few of the dates. And if you go, one dollar from your ticket goes straight to the Buju Banton Foundation to help empower and educate youth in Jamaica. Go to bujubantonfoundation.org to learn more and grab your tickets.
