NEW RELEASE

Sound system and record label Agobun from Lille, France, have released a posthumous album by the late Vivian Jones, who passed away in October 2025. Titled Vivian Jones Meets Agobun, the LP brings together songs the French crew recorded with the beloved UK reggae singer between 2019 and 2025.

Reggae fans will already know tracks like Rock Dis Ya On, Fire Bun, and Wickedness, which were previously released as singles. But the album also includes several unreleased recordings, giving us the chance to hear fresh material from Vivian once again.

One of the standout moments is the moving opening track, Fire. It’s Vivian’s powerful and deeply personal reflection on the Grenfell Tower tragedy. This acoustic version, featuring backing by the Binghistra, was recorded between Agobun’s studio in Lille and the yard of reggae guitar legend Earl “Chinna” Smith in Kingston, Jamaica, giving the song an intimate and organic feel.

Vivian Jones earned his reputation through classic lovers rock, but Vivian Jones Meets Agobun is another reminder that his voice sits just as naturally in roots reggae. From start to finish, he sounds completely at home on these roots reggae productions, making this album a beautiful tribute to a singer whose voice continues to resonate.
