During a break between gigs of his farewell tour in 2023, reggae vet singer Max Romeo went into a French studio with his backing band to cover three classic reggae songs. As a tribute to his peers and close friends, the late John Holt and Kenrick “Lord Creator” Patrick he chose to record new versions of Man Next Door, No Place Like Home, and Kingston Town. The recordings were then mixed by Dennis Bovell, who also did a dub version of each track. Aptly titled Sings Classics, the six tracks are now released on a Max Romeo 12″ vinyl platter by France-based Wise Records.
