Deejay Shaka Pow invades Rvssia
Dancehall reggae artiste Shaka Pow has stepped out of his comfort zone, joining the epicenter of Rvssia’s currently trending ‘Dutty Money riddim’.
The Fully Bright, Unconditional artiste has released a medley video that includes Junior Cat brother of international superstar Junior Cat, and emerging deejay star Anna Thickaz.
Junior Cat’s ‘Love, Cook and Clean’ emphasizes what he considers to be the three roles of a woman. Anna Thickaz’s Thick Gyal Business professes to be the “thickest” girl in the Caribbean, while Shaka Pow continues with the same baseline as ‘Continent’ by Nigi Boy (a trending visually impaired artiste on the same riddim), that every girl around the world wants him.
According to Shaka Pow, “The birth of this latest project began when Miss Chin, a dancehall artiste converted to Christianity, sent me the riddim. It certainly got me excited so Anna Thickaz and I, immediately went to the studio where we saw Junior Cat and convinced him to join us on the riddim.”
Since its release the pulsating dancehall big has been making rounds in several streets and indoor sessions, including Boom and Bounty Sundays, Uptown Mondays, Weddy Weddy, and Whopping Thursdays.
The riddim has grabbed the attention of hundreds of dancehall artistes and is played all over the world, receiving millions of views.
“In my song, I have paid homage to Rvssian in every verse hoping to catch his attention. The medley video has amassed some 8,600 views within a day on YouTube. It means stepping out of my comfort zone and reaching the new dancehall audience locally and internationally.”
Shaka Pow has vowed to attack every popular riddim in the local dancehall sphere. In this year, he will be compiling and releasing the highly anticipated ‘Unconditional’ album.
