Tabou1 launches the first Music NFT platform
In 2021, Morgan Heritage made headlines by releasing three songs as NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). By doing this, the group broke new ground by being the first to bring reggae music to the blockchain.
Now, nearly three years later, the Tabou1 record label from France has introduced the first Music NFT platform, offering exclusive unreleased content that blends the convenience of digital audio with the superior sound of vinyl records. Using blockchain technology, artists can receive fair compensation for their recordings.
Tabou1 launched their new official website on Friday, March 1, 2024, offering reggae fans and NFT collectors alike the chance to purchase their music. The Limited Editions are exclusively available on their site and will not be found on streaming platforms. Additionally, the vinyl records will never be repressed, making each buyer’s copy a rare collectible item.
On March 15, 2024, Tabou1 will release a never-before-heard rub-a-dub version of Bitty McLean’s hit song Walk Away From Love, produced in collaboration with Sly & Robbie. Available are three alternate mixes and 2 different vinyl editions plus lots of free bonus tracks and artwork, coming as Red, Green and Gold LIMITED editions. Pre-ordering is now open and includes up to 16 free bonus tracks and artwork in the form of Collectable Music NFTs.
