Donroy Muziq, the producer of ‘Beautiful Day’, one of seven tracks on the Various Artistes compilation album ‘Mankind Riddim’, recently skyrocketed to Number One on the popular Richie B reggae charts.

The song, a combination of internationally acclaimed Capleton and well-accomplished Inner Voice, has been getting rave reviews since the album’s released on Donroy Muziq imprint on June 16, 2023.

The single’s enviable Number One position has broken the silence of Glenroy “Donroy” Donaldson, who shares the song’s success with his son and co-producer Savoy.

“This is only the beginning of what we expect to be a project for Grammy Consideration next year. In fact, we are working for a Grammy Nomination. And, if that sounds too ambitious, I am here to enlighten everyone.”

“This project (‘Mankind Riddim’) was well thought of, from start to finish. In short, we had a plan which we fully executed.”

“I knew the artistes we needed to prepare and to make the plan successful. In fact, one can attest to the vibrant authentic voice of the Fireman Capleton and the smooth, velvet-laced Inner Voice who recorded ‘Beautiful Day’, our first Number One.”

“We wanted positive songs with energy and passion, which will inspire people from all walks of life.”

“As to the other artistes, there’s Nana EQ, a strong advocate for not only Africans but also for human rights and justice. And, one who is well-respected in the music industry. Her contribution is titled ‘God’s Blessings’.”

“Others on the album are Genna1 with ‘You Change Me’, ‘Don’t Put Your Trust In Mankind’ by Abulani, and Jah Thunder with ‘Mankind Mean’. Sully Sulfa with ‘Life Should Be Better’, and ‘Poverty Spell Break’ by T Butler featuring Axxcess & Little D

Donroy, who grew up in Duhaney Park, Kingston 20, began his music career in his early twenties. He enjoyed a slice of the music industry as a producer for more than twenty years.

“The first artistes who came under my wings were Twins of Twins having marketed ‘Stir It Up (Volume 1)’. I also managed the talented Hot Shot Crew from Seaview Gardens.”

“My success story led to both father and son meeting artistes, including Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Capleton, Elephant Man, Mr. Vegas, Captain Barkey, Determine, Lukie D, Anthony B and Spice.”

“I also recorded the Scare Dem Crew, Monster Shack, and Hot Shot Crew, and I secured a number of local and international hits on my former label Hot-A-Tac Records.”
