After much anticipation, fireworks were in order for the release of ‘Ratings’. The song, a collaboration by dynamic trio Trueace, Rani Rastaciti, and J Stvrr was released last Friday, July 21, 2023.

Trueace and J Stvrr are Canadian-based artistes from the well-known Fire Flames family, with Jamaican Rastaciti wearing the next reggae crown.

In an interview with Reggae-Vibes, the group explains the dynamism of the song as one to keep the dancehall bouncing and bubbling.

“We are thrilled to announce the release of our latest song ‘Ratings’. It is about the struggles, the fight, and barriers that we face and have overcome in our day-to-day lives.”

“In today’s society, it is very easy to lose focus, give up on our dreams, run with negatives, and become very dependable, which even takes a toll on our mental and emotional well-being.”

“However, with a song like ‘Ratings’, it encourages you to help to stay focused and strive to be the best version of yourself.”

The intro of the song is sung by the trio, with the first verse by Trueace. This speaks about the values of determination. J Stvrr delivers the chorus, with the second verse mastered by Rani Rastaciti which from all angles is about the oppression one faces because of where they live.

J Stvrr comes in again, keeping the fire burning with verse three. The song is harmonized by Canadian singjay Shandiva who placed the icing on the cake.

‘Ratings’, produced by Aktive Record and Country Youth Records, is written by Alec “Trueace” Smith, Shirquan “Rani Rastaciti” Harrison, Jowayne “J Stvrr” James, and Shaunna K “Shandiva” Campbell.

The single is available on all digital platforms including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Youtube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer Music, and Napster. A music video is also released.
