If you’ve been waiting for new music from Jah9, you’ll be delighted to know the wait is over. Released through VP Records, The Open Heart Project brings you eight tracks: four originals and four reworks that flip the mood in subtle but powerful ways. She has also dropped a video for one of the tracks, S.E.X Sacred Energy Xchange, to bring the vibe to life.

The roots of this project go back to her time in Tanzania during the pandemic. Jah9 stayed there longer than planned, and that space clearly shaped her. She leaned into the culture, strengthened her spiritual practice, and even welcomed her first child during that time. That kind of experience doesn’t stay on the surface. It shows up in the music.

The story across the tracks flows like a journey. It starts with that first spark between two people, moves through doubt and distance, and then finds its way back to understanding and healing. Production comes from Winta James, J.L.L., and Iotosh, while Shaka Lion, out of Lisbon, reshapes each track with his own touch. And you’ll hear Rorystonelove weaving through the project as MC, tying it all together nicely.
