To celebrate fifty years in the game, Misty In Roots are opening up the vaults and giving their classics a fresh run. And they’re kicking things off with the album that first put their name on so many lips. Back in 1975 the band formed, and four years later they dropped Live At The Counter Eurovision 79, an album that many reggae heads still call one of the greatest live albums ever released. The original vinyl has been impossible to find for ages, but now the album returns on standard and deluxe vinyl, plus cassette and digital. If you’re a collector, the deluxe LP is the one to chase. Only 500 copies, all on red vinyl, all numbered. You also get a red-vinyl 7″ with two rare tunes, City Runnings and Cry Out, by most fans only known the old People Unite In Progress compilation. They’ve even thrown in a numbered A1 poster, which feels like a proper nod to the fans who’ve been with them from day one.
