Riddim Dee-Lite: Smiling Face
RIDDIM RELEASE
UK-based Stingray Records keeps the momentum going in its Revival Series with the release of Smiling Face Riddim, a 7-track EP that breathes new life into the classic riddim behind The Paragons’ 1967 hit Only A Smile. This updated version leans into the lover’s rock tradition, spotlighting a lineup of mostly UK reggae talent. The EP opens with All Night Long, featuring Colin B’s signature smooth vocals. Peter Spence brings heartfelt soul to Cross The Line, while Rafeelya shines on Wanna Be With You with her emotive delivery. Jamaican singer Raymond Wright follows with I’ll Wait, a tender offering. Claire Angel lifts the mood with the inspirational track Life. Underrated singer Tenna Star pays homage to the original Paragons tune with a respectful cover. Closing out the collection in fine style is Sandra Cross, who delivers Stumbling Block.
