New 7″ vinyl from Fruits Records
NEW RELEASE
The Let Peace Reign Riddim marks a historic first for The 18th Parallel and Fruits Records as it has been fully recorded on analog 2″ tape. No rehearsals. No arrangements. Not even a chord progression. Just seven musicians channeling pure instinct, echoing the raw spirit of classic roots rock reggae. This debut collaboration with the BAT Records crew delivers a gritty, unfiltered roots sound.
Wax Box features Spanish vocalist Marcus I, a respected figure in the reggae underground thanks to his work with Hornin’ Sounds, F-Spot Records, and Breadwinners. His vocal cut is a tribute to the sound system selectors, the crate diggers and wax collectors who’ve kept the vinyl culture alive for nearly seven decades. On Let Peace Reign, saxophonist Nat Birchall brings a deep, meditative, and soulful performance, evoking the golden tones of Cedric ‘Im’ Brooks, Tommy McCook, and Roland Alphonso. Both singles come backed with heavyweight dub mixes on the flip, courtesy of the Dub Shepherds.
