New release: Celebrating Jamaica 63
NEW RELEASE
For the past three years, Tad’s International Record has honored Jamaica’s sovereignty, won from Great Britain in August 1962, with a special compilation series. The latest edition, Celebrating Jamaica 63, continues this tradition, blending covers of timeless reggae classics with fresh original tracks.
The 16-track compilation includes I Need A Roof, where The Mighty Diamonds team up with Josey Wales and Singer J to revisit their 1976 anthem. Jesse Royal reimagines The Tide is High, originally performed by The Paragons, giving it a vibrant new twist. Leroy Sibbles, the creative force behind The Heptones, breathes new life into Party Time, one of the group’s signature hits. Sophia Squier pays tribute to The Gladiators with her cover of Hello Carol, a beloved tune from the late 1960s. Among the five original tracks are Anthony B’s Reggae Gone Pon Top and Riot, an instrumental by saxophonist Dean Fraser and trumpeter Okeil McIntyre.
