REISSUE

The long-awaited reissue of Reggae Hit Showcase, the third LP from the roots reggae vocal trio Sons of Jah from Ladbroke Grove, London is finally out on the street. Originally made up of Trevor Bow, Derrick Donaldson, and Howard Haughton, the group first released this standout album in 1980 on Bow’s own Natty Congo label.

Recorded at the Treasure Isle studio in Kingston, Jamaica, Reggae Hit Showcase features a powerhouse line-up including Aston “Familyman” Barrett, Santa Davis, Rico, and Earl “Chinna” Smith. The album delivers four deeply rooted vocal tracks alongside two rich instrumentals, the opener Meseret, featuring the talents of trumpeter Tan Tan, and the album closer Ayo.
