Asce-aa-Spade’s Thanksgiving Day Bashment
If you were around when Asce-aa-Spade celebrated Thanksgiving Day on November 28th, you could still be licking your ten fingers.
Asce-aa-Spade, a Jamaican-born US-based record producer and singjay, “shell down” a menu that had guests wailing for more.
Asce-aa-Spade, a chief cook and bottle-washer, prepared baked ham, curry goat, grilled ribs and steak, oxtail, fried yellow rice, and gungo peas. For refreshments there were Hennessy, Stella rose wine, and Ciroc – a strong liquor which invites chasers.
The former Jose Marti High School student prepared his ham varnished with pineapple juice, spiked with cloves, pineapple slices, and cherries. With the tactical arrangement, the finished product was a picture-perfect honey crust, a mega meal fit for a royal dinner.
Guests arrived to the sounds of reggae and dancehall music; his choices ranged from ‘Tuff Up Mi Thing’ to ‘House Party’ featuring Skirdle Sparta, son of Tommy Lee Sparta.
Asce-aa-Spade explains that he got many of his recipes from his dad, a professional chef and entrepreneur.
“I started to cook and bake at a very young age. Cooking is my passion because food is important to good health and I cook for more than pleasure.”
For the rest of the year, the reggae dancehall artiste and producer says he has a few projects to introduce to music lovers, and “I am going to put my fans in a dancing mood for 2025 and beyond.”
