There are some stories that you will hear and let them pass like thin air without that moisture which makes a good rainfall.

There are others which makes one want to make unforgettable.

Beh Beh Paparazzi, born Kurt McFarlane, is a man of many talents. He’s a deejay, song writer, record producer, videographer, and he even advertises for businesses in England.

I quickly began to toss a number of questions and found out his early years were spent in Farm Heights, MoBay, Jamaica. He could be seen in ‘Gully’, a community in that same place, among entertainers, including Baby Wayne and Beenie Man.

“I used to be in the ‘Gully’. This is where artistes like Baby Wayne and Beenie Man, would sometimes hang out.”

MoBay is a fertile breeding ground for a number of established artistes like Tommy Lee Sparta, Teejay, Jah Cure, Rygin King, Shaneil Muir and Squash.

Beh Beh (short for Beh Beh Paparazzi), who quickly learnt how to ride riddims, made a name for himself in his hometown.

“I loved music from schooldays. I started to play the piano because I loved the sounds of instruments.”

“I was a regular churchgoer with my grandmother, and I even got paptized, recognizing the importance of the Almighty.

As a member of Seba United Football Club (now Montego Bay United Football Club,) Beh Beh had to rap with players, many of whom professed the rastafarian faith, hence his belief in the teachings of Marcus Garvey.

Even with this passion for music, Beh Beh’s big break came after he migrated to the United Kingdom. There he met friends who were aspiring musicians.

“It was a jingle I did for Champions In Action’s Immortal Sound which led to other gigs played on radio stations, and then within no time, peopie all over wanted me to promote their businesses.”

“People obviously loved my catchy phrases and flow. This led to being featured in a song which I introduced. Then, it was full credit from ‘Turn Up The Swagger’ which appeared on my MoBay Records imprint shared with my brother Vernon Gray.”

So far, Beh Beh has released four projects, two of which are the ‘Nuh Sponge Riddim’ with 14 high-powered tracks including Chino’s ‘Nah Beg’ and Beh Beh’s ‘Turn Up The Swagger’. The other is ‘A We Say Dancehall’, a 4- track masterpiece with Singer J’s ‘Bad Mind’ and Beh Beh’s ‘Long Chain’.

And there is so much more about Beh Beh’s whirl of music. You just have to keep your dial on the Reggae Vibes site.
