Fashionista, record producer, and author A’Legends is humbled by a major endorsement which is set to catapult her career to another level.

The US-based social media influencer, born Jenelle Thompson, was given ‘one of dancehall’s most popular fashion designer status’ in a recent article published by The Star, a sister tabloid to the over 150-year-old Gleaner in Jamaica.

The article centered around Vybz Kartel’s upcoming ‘Freedom Street’ stage show at the National Stadium sought A’Legend’s views on how the public should dress.

“I think Vybz Kartel personal style will play an influence with what fans choose to wear. He is Kartel, he is very influencial. We will surely be seeing a lot of the bandanas as that is his latest go-to-look,” she opioned.

“For the short week he is out, the cost of the handkerchief has increased. I think the colour orange may be the colour of the night, reason being, again it is that colour he has frequently been wearing in the first few days of his release and his fans have already taken to it,” she said.

Thompson also adds that personalized T-shirts having the face of Kartel or the Gaza symbol cannot be ruled out for that night, December 31st, 2024.

Kartel’s historic return to the stage after 13 years behind bars is expected to have a rippling effect, as seen with the rush of fans to get early tickets. The first tier is already sold out.

Ticket cost starts with the lower end priced at US $125 or JA $19,700 to the VIP’s paying US$ 10,000 or JA $1,565,938. This cost has preceeded that of Buju Banton’s ‘Long Walk to Freedom Show’ at the same venue March 16, 2019.

Speculations are rife that A’Legends could be a guest at that show based on the celebrity status she has been garnering.

Her last major appearance was as a guest at the Caribbean Music Awards show in New York City in 2023. As a fashion designer, she was part of New York Fashion Week in which she rolled out 18 pieces of her unique designs, receiving rave reviews.

Based on popular requests, she again showcased her collection at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Her popularity has led to a flurry of media interviews, in addition to gracing the covers of magazines.
