For many, a perfect birthday gift comes with surprises, such as a new car from your loved ones, expensive jewelry, luxurious trips, or a fat million-dollar cheque. For others, it is a simple rose or self-made card which becomes a souvenir.

For Heather Virgo, a Jamaican-born US-based record producer, her birthday gifts could be described as a “jubilee” on social media, last Friday, August 9, 2024, when she celebrated her earthstrong.

According to the Hit Melody Records boss, “The surprise started hours before the clock ticked to a new Day, August 9, 2024.”

“It started with my many fans in the UK, which as you know, is five hours ahead of my time in the United States. So, this birthday rocket was first launched by the Europeans, and these were coming in from countries, including Italy and Germany.”

“They posted on TikTok, Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook, just about every social media platform one could think of.”

With multiple posts and several hundred comments, Heather was glued to her phone for hours.

“Fans from over ten countries showered their love and Heather was overwhelmed.”

“There were greetings from parts of África including Zambia and Nigeria, which I had expected. My riddims are doing well there, in terms of listenership. In addition, my Caribbean fans continue to give me full support.”

Some of the comments read:

with songs and photos depicting the occasion.

So, from the batch Heather picked one that blew her mind; a classic that showed her a cut among the rest. The song ‘She Fell in Love’ is on the ‘Edition’ riddim, a Hit Melody Records Production.

This came from Ian Sweetness, who recently won ‘Dancehall Thursdays Song of the Year’.

“I am thanking everyone who showed me such great generosity on my birthday. Artistes on my two riddims, ‘Ionie’ with fourteen songs and ‘Edition’ with eight tracks.”

‘Edition’ has been out since 2021, while ‘Ionie’ was released in May 2024.
