Denniese Walker, a singjay and lawyer by profession, is getting much love in several schools she has visited as part of Dr. Garth McDonald’s Fully Bright school tour.

Her job, which involves defending incarcerated young men, has led to her passion for eradicating what she refers to as an ongoing menace in society.

“Seeing so many young men charged with various offenses, some of which are gun-related, do not augers well for the future of this country. We should not be doing wrongs which will cast them in lock-ups and prisons.”

To help in arresting this problem, Lawyer Walker has been educating young men whenever she finds the time to do so.

“I see them just about everywhere I go. Supermarkets where I do my shopping, at the police station, and in the court offices.”

“Many young men do not have responsible fathers, so everything is left to poor mothers who have to hustle to make a living.”

However, she reveals that her main platform has become Dr. Garth McDonald’s Fully Bright school tour tour.

“This is such an excellent way of spreading the message because I get the opportunity to reach a large audience. And, most of all, I am communicating with all levels of students, from kindergarten to high schools.”

Lawyer Walker, an upcoming singjay also believes that music can reach thousands, so she is promoting four of her songs, ‘Rise Up Young Men’, ‘Weh Mi Fi Do’, ‘Farming’ and ‘Faith’. She is also preparing to release other songs which will be promoted on all platforms, including social media.

Her motivational talks, which include her rise from a poor Portland farming family, characterized by several challenges, are getting good responses from teachers and students in schools.
