Villedon creates ‘Bad Gyal’
Flankers, MoBay, has let loose Villedon, one of the biggest surprises in the music arena, and he has taken along ‘Bad Gyal’, one of his cheerleaders.
The deejay comes into the ring like a champion, throwing some heavyweight punches which are sure to keep the fans on their toes.
One music critic labeled him as ‘the next Dexta Daps with a price tag that will blow your mind’. As for me, he has won all the rounds I have seen so far, including his music video.
Just by looking at the music video ‘Bad Gyal’, a sensual action-packed drama, shows you the power of love. It is professionally played by a sexy girl who knows how to tie the knots.
But, what does Villedon feel about the intimacy?
“The girl is not my girlfriend. She was commissioned to do the role and I had to fit into the entire script,” he mused.
Villedon explains that he makes music that interests dancehall fans, so “‘Bad Gyal’ has definitely brought some good news and views.”
‘Bad Gyal’ was released in 2021 on the SB Production label. So too is ‘Empty’, a song which mirrors his life experiences, he recalls with an air of achievement.
Meanwhile, ‘Bunx’, a dancing song for the females, was released in May 2024 on the same label.
“This ‘Bunx’ piece is a summer song, but also one that can be enjoyed every season. It is relevant to the spirited young and old.”
The riddim is one which has a dancehall pitch and an international glitz.
Villedon, born Nickel Cuvilie, hails from Flankers and attended Harrison Memorial High School. He credits school and church as giving him the first gear to move his career to great momentum
“I entered the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) gospel song competition for schools as a group and we won a gold medal.”
Villedon’s first recording was ‘Fite Fi Mi Life’. “I am also working on my debut album which includes some dynamic singles.”
