Thug Chemist Musiq is set to cement its presence in Africa with his first show by this December, 2024 in Gambia, Africa.

The artiste set to carry the Royal Plus baton is the very promising reggae singer Rasta Blacspade.

He is remembered as a finalist in the 2023 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) competition. Rasta Blackspade has also secured Artiste of The Week on radio charts in Gambia.

Reggae in Africa was boosted by the visit of Bob Marley in Zimbabwe 1980.

Ghana is among the first African countries to gain independence from the UK in 1957 and gravitates to the sounds of struggles and strife associated with reggae.

The king of Africa’s reggae music is Lucky Dube, others include Alpha Blondy, Majek Fashek and Sasha Marley.

According to artiste manager/record producer Thug Chemist, “All of Rasta Blacspade songs, such as ‘Jah Jah Live’, ‘Be Like The Sea’ and ‘Love Over All Things’, are extremely good, so I am expecting great things from him, especially when his album is complete and set for promotion in 2025.”

“His presence in Gambia is garnering a good fanbase as radio disc jockeys have included his songs on their juggling playlist,” he continues.

“The ‘Royal Plus Riddim’ on which he occupies, is showing signs of being a favourite of reggae fans,” Thug Chemist shares.

Rasta Blacspade hopes to promote not only peace and unity, but the teachings of National Hero Marcus Mosiah Garvey who focuses on self-confidence, self-reliance and equality among all men and women.
