Producer Robbie Melody and roots singer Richie Culture from Birmingham, UK, present the reggae world the first single and title track of their upcoming EP, Hail H.I.M., coinciding with the celebration of Emperor Haile Selassie I’s Earthstrong.

The track centers on deep roots, as Robbie Melody and Richie Culture transport their sound back in time to echo the mid-’70s roots reggae era in Jamaica. The intro of Hail H.I.M., featuring an ethereal Ethiopian flute over Nyabinghi drums and trombone, transitions into a heartbeat tempo one-drop riddim with a pulsating bass line and a captivating trombone sound. The track is layered with spring reverb and tape echo, leading up to Richie Culture’s distinctive vocals and lyrics that express the singer’s vision. This mesmerizing song brimming with natural mystic elevates expectations for the rest of the EP.

Two additional tracks will be released in August and October before the full 4-track EP drops on November 11, 2024.
