Reggae Session Riddim
NEW RELEASE
The Heartical Sound & Label is marking its 25th anniversary by unearthing four unreleased tracks of the Reggae Session Riddim. The original riddim, crafted by Inyaki Yarritu of BDF (Basque Dub Foundation) in 1999, was initially voiced by Roberto Sánchez for the 2002 album BDF Meets Loud & Lone. In 2003, during his stay in France for shows and recording sessions, veteran Jamaican singer Hopeton James recorded the soulful song Magic Touch on this riddim. Five years later, the Spanish sibling duo Rootsamala utilized the riddim for their lovers rock track Your Love. Alongside the vocal cuts, BDF’s Inyaki Yarritu produced an organ instrumental and a dub version. These four previously unreleased tracks are now being made available by Heartical across all download and streaming platforms.
